How to use the calculator

  1. Enter the value of your assets (anything that you own, like savings, investments, property, life policies etc.) in the Assets tab.
  2. Enter your liabilities (anything you owe, like any outstanding mortgage or loans etc.) in the Liabilities tab.
  3. Click 'calculate' to work out your net asset value (i.e. your assets minus your liabilities)
  4. Then click 'calculate' again within the Results tab to give you an estimate of your potential inheritance tax liability.
